HSC Media Club leader calls for changes in the Education Sector

Noreen Fatima, a member of the High Sound for Children Media club from Bishops Senior secondary school has called for changes in the education sector in Uganda to enable all children stay in school.

Speaking at the annual general meeting for Child rights organizations from different countries under the East Africa Child Rights Network that convened in Uganda, Noreen says many children continue to drop out of school to a system that does not favor all children.

Noreen says the economy was affected greatly by COVID 19 that left many families struggling and yet schools are increasing school charges resulting into the increasing numbers of children dropping out.

Many children have up to now not returned to school since the COVID 19 because of financial hurdles while many girls have failed to return to school because they are now child mothers.
