A COVID-19 positive patient at Entebbe Grade B hospital in Uganda has given birth to a healthy baby.
The mother is a 22years’ old Ugandan from Kyengera, and this is said to be her second pregnancy.
The Director of the Hospital Dr. Moses Muwanga confirmed the development saying the patient gave birth to a bouncing baby girl on Saturday between 2 and 3 PM
He said that although the delivery was by caesarian section, the mother and baby are both in good health.
Officials say that the baby is to be tested to ascertain whether it has the virus or not.
According to Dr. Christine from the Kenya infectious disease institute, there is no evidence of transmission of COVID19 from mother to child.
